The fireproof raw materials for LED display screens mainly include four aspects: the wires and power supply used inside the LED display screen, the fireproof materials for the external protective structure, and the plastic kit.

(1) In most LED display screen applications, The larger the unit area displayed on an LED display screen, the greater its power consumption, and the higher the requirement for the stability of the wire’s power supply. Among numerous wire products, the use of wire that meets national standard requirements can ensure its safety and stability. There are three requirements: the wire core is a conductive carrier of copper wire, the cross-sectional area tolerance of the wire core is within the standard range, the insulation and flame retardancy of the rubber covering the wire core meet the standard. Compared with ordinary aluminum wire cores, wire cores with a smaller cross-sectional area, and insufficient insulation rubber grade, the electrical performance is more stable and less prone to short circuits.
(2) UL certified power products are also the choice when choosing similar products. Their effective conversion rate can ensure the safety and stability of the power load, and can work normally even in high external environmental temperatures.
(3) In terms of materials for the external protective structure of LED display wall, most of the LED display screen products with higher fire resistance levels on the market use fire-resistant aluminum-plastic panels, which have excellent fire resistance and strong fire retardant properties. Conventional aluminum-plastic panels age quickly with high temperatures and cold and hot impacts from rain. In humid weather seasons, rain and dew can easily penetrate into the interior of the screen, causing electronic components to short circuit and cause fires.
(4) The fire-resistant raw materials for LED display screens also have an important part, which is the plastic kit. The plastic kit is mainly used as the material for the bottom shell of the unit module cover, mainly made of PC+fiberglass material with flame retardant function. It not only has flame retardant function, but also can withstand high and low temperatures and long-term use without deformation, brittleness, and cracking. At the same time, combined with adhesive with good sealing properties, it can effectively block rainwater from the external environment from penetrating into the interior, causing short circuits and fires.
In addition to the impact of internal raw materials on fire prevention, external configuration and design are also very important. However, external configuration mainly involves heat dissipation in fire prevention issues. When working on LED display screens, exhaust fans and air conditioning will be installed to cool down the inside of the screen. It is recommended to install 1P air conditioning every 8-10m2 to ensure that the temperature inside the screen remains normal and constant. Improper configuration of air conditioning or exhaust fans can cause uneven heat dissipation treatment, which can easily lead to safety hazards inside the screen due to temperature rise. At the same time, many LED companies only simulate the spray waterproofing test of the external environment when testing the protection level of the box. The durability and strength of the waterproofing effect need to be verified, which leads to water leakage after a period of use of LED display products. This is an important reason why outdoor LED display screens are prone to fire or have a short service life. When dealing with thunderstorms, the lightning arrester installed inside the screen is an essential component to avoid damage to the internal components of the screen due to strong lightning strikes. The lightning arrester can directly guide lightning into the ground without affecting the screen.
